Dr. Douglas Fortner
Mr. Fortner teaches Logic at Veritas Academy.
Dr. Douglas Fortner studied philosophy at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he was graduated with the degrees of B.A. (1991), M.A. (1993), and Ph.D. (2002), with additional graduate study in contemporary philosophy at The University of Maryland.
Beginning as a lecturer at C.U.A. (1999–2001), and subsequently at Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee (2002–2003) and at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio (2003–2005), for over sixteen years he has been a teacher of philosophy.
Since 2005, Dr. Fortner has taught at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, where he currently serves as associate professor of philosophy; his areas of specialization encompass ancient philosophy, metaphysics, and ethics. Highly appreciative of classical education, Dr. Fortner’s two children began studying at Veritas Academy in 2017.
