Sean Crawford is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Advisor at Albourne Partners, where he advises pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and endowments and foundations on investments, policy, and governance. Sean joined Albourne in 2019.

Prior to Albourne, Sean was the Chief Investment Officer for the State of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which operates the largest transportation network in North America. Sean was the Authority’s first Chief Investment Officer and oversaw over $15 billion in pension and insurance assets. Sean started his career in finance in 1997 as a corporate bond analyst at Salomon Brothers in New York City. From 1998-2014, he held senior positions at McDonald Investments/Key Bank, Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital, and Brown Brothers Harriman.
Sean has been a lecturer for the Masters in Finance program at Drew University since 2019. He is also an adjunct professor in the Business program at Marion Technical College, currently teaching macroeconomics.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) and a Master of Arts (Political Economy) from New York University. Sean has been a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst since 2005.
Sean and his wife, Maria, relocated from New York to Delaware in 2021 along with their two children, Elena (15) and William (13). Jethro, the family dog, has been offering endless entertainment since the summer of 2022.
