Veritas Academy practices a biblical philosophy of admissions, not discriminating on the basis of race, sex, color, or national origin in the administration of its policies, admissions, scholarships, athletic, or other school directed programs. We also realize that our classical, Christian-based, university model, homeschool supplemental program is not for everyone. Accordingly, we are selective in our admissions policy.
Admissions Process
The steps below constitute our typical admissions process for new students, which may be supplemented by additional interviews and requests for information as necessary to ensure an informed admissions decision.
NEW FAMILY PROCESS
1. Express Interest
Once a prospective student and their parents determine that Veritas Academy is an educational option they would like to learn more about, they are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest form.
2. Schedule Family Visit/Interview
Once your Expression of Interest is received, Veritas Academy will contact you to schedule a visit/interview. Each homeschooling situation and family is unique. The purpose of the visit is for both the Academy and the family to learn more about each other, determine if Veritas Academy is the right fit, and decide which classes the family would be interested in registering for.
3. Registration
After a successful visit, families will be invited to register for classes. An annual, non-refundable registration fee of $150 per student with a family maximum of $300 is due upon registration. This non-refundable fee, minus a $50 administration fee per applicant, will be refunded if your child(ren) is/are not admitted to Veritas Academy. After your registration fee is submitted, your family will be sent a link to register for specific classes.
4. Schedule Placement Testing (If Applicable)
Upon receipt of the student registration and application fee, reading or math placement testing may be scheduled. Testing may be waived if prior year standardized test scores and/or school records are provided and accepted by Veritas Academy. Please note that placement testing is required for new students, current students who are not in good academic standing, and current students who desire advanced placement in math or English.
RETURNING FAMILY PROCESS
1. Registration
Following Open House in January, returning families submit their registration fee of $150 per student with a family maximum of $300. After the registration fee is submitted, your family will be sent a link to register for specific classes.
2. Schedule Placement Testing (If Applicable)
Upon receipt of the student registration and application fee, reading or math placement testing may be scheduled if they have not already taken a Veritas class in that discipline. Testing may be waived if prior year standardized test scores and/or school records are provided and accepted by Veritas Academy. Please note that placement testing is required for new students, current students who are not in good academic standing, and current students who desire advanced placement in math or English.
